NVDA shares rose 7.8% in premarket trading after the graphics chip maker reported second-quarter revenue of $13.5 billion, beating estimates of $11.2 billion. Data center revenue increased 141% to $10.32 billion. And adjusted earnings of $2.70 per share easily beat expectations of $2.08.

It said it expected third-quarter revenue of $16 billion at the middle of its range, well above the analyst consensus of $12.6 billion. CEO Jensen Huang credited the strong results to a significant shift towards the adoption of artificial intelligence.
